Number Reverse
Here is our last post about last night’s frustrating Game 1. Many key numbers reared their ugly head Wednesday at BB&T Ballpark, so let’s put a positive spin on all of them.
Number: 0
Last night: The number of hits the Dash mustered with runners in scoring position
Tonight: The number of sweeps Winston-Salem has suffered this season.
Number: 1
Last night: The number of runs the Dash scored, with the lone tally coming on Courtney Hawkins’ solo homer in the fifth.
Tonight: The number of runs Game 2 starter Scott Snodgress has surrendered against the Pelicans in 12 innings spanning two starts.
Number: 4
Last night: The number of runs Myrtle Beach scored in the inning of distinction, the top of the sixth.
Tonight: The Pelicans have scored four runs or less in 15 of their 21 games against Winston during the 2012 campaign.
Number: 6
Last night: The inning during which Myrtle took the lead for good less than 24 hours ago.
Tonight: The number of starts Snodgress allowed zero or one runs during his eight High-A efforts during the regular season.
Number: 10
Last night: The number of strikeouts Pelicans pitchers recorded last night.
Tonight: Winston-Salem scored 10 or more runs a league-high 21 times during the regular season.
And by the way, I gave you a new outlook on five numbers, which matches the number of wins the Dash mustered when facing a sweep this season. They were 5-0 in those games. Starting lineups post coming in a bit. Talk to you then.
