Dash Bullpen In Flux Again
The Dash’s bullpen has been the most dynamic part of the roster this season. Relievers have come and gone more than any aspect of the roster. Today, two more relievers earned promotions, with Ryan Buch heading to Double-A Birmingham and Bryan Blough returning to the Triad from Low-A Kannapolis.
Buch is heading to the Southern League for the first time in his career. In 22 appearances this season, Buch is 4-5 with a 6.21 earned run average. He joined the bullpen at the tail end of the first half and struggled for a few outings in that role. However, the former eighth-round pick has allowed only three runs on eight hits in his last seven appearances spanning eight frames.
After his second stint in the South Atlantic League, Blough returns to Winston-Salem, where he went 2-0 with a 4.40 ERA in seven appearances. With the Intimidators, Blough was 2-6 with an ERA of 4.23 in 32 appearances, six of which were starts.
The Dash are back at BB&T Ballpark for the first of four against the Lynchburg Hillcats tonight at 7:00. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:45 here.
