Kevin(s)? They Are In Winston-Salem
We’ve found Kevin. Two of them, actually. The White Sox announced a pair of roster moves affecting the Dash, with two right-handed relievers joining the fold–Kevin Moran and Kevin Vance.
Moran has been on the disabled list for much of the season, but he has shown flashes of being a solid reliever in the minor leagues. Two years ago, the former ninth round selection went 1-2 with a 2.70 earned run average in 21 appearances between rookie-level Bristol and Low-A Kannapolis. With the Intimidators last season, the righty went 1-2 with a 7.33 ERA in 12 appearances.
Vance has been arguably the best reliever in Kannapolis over the last couple of months. The right-hander was 4-2 with a 3.09 ERA in 19 appearances in Low-A. After making nine starts to begin the season, Vance joined the bullpen and thrived, boasting a 1.66 ERA in 10 relief efforts (38 innings, 38 strikeouts).
Both the former Boston College Eagle (Moran) and Connecticut Huskie (Vance) are heading to High-A for the first time in their careers. They join a Winston-Salem bullpen that owns a very respectable 3.36 ERA this season.
Winston-Salem opens up a three-game series against the Frederick Keys tonight at 7:00. Pre-game coverage begins at 6:45 here.
